The Higher the Magnification - The More Detail You'll See

Magnification is the ability of your microscope to make small objects seem larger. As the magnification increases the area being viewed will be decrease is size but the detail of the area being viewed will improve.

Amscope microscopes come with multiple magnifications to aid you in finding the proper magnification for viewing each specimen.

Camera Connection Types

When comparing 2.0 and 3.0 there are few major differences. First the transfer rates. USB 2.0 offers transfer rates of 480 Mbps and USB 3.0 offers transfer rates of 4.8 Gbps - that's 10 times faster.

Camera Resolution

The most important factor in ensuring successful microscopic imaging is choosing the appropriate optics and camera for your application that gives you more data and higher image quality. When selecting a microscope camera, it is best to base your decision on the most important requirements for your microscopic observation.

Key Features

  • 3MP USB digital camera captures photos & live videos on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10, Mac OS X, and Linux computers

A Webcam for Your Microscope

AmScope's MD series digital eyepiece cameras are lightweight and compact, making them perfect companions to any microscope. Another huge benefit is their ability to be used with popular video conferencing apps just like a webcam. This is because they use UVC protocol, making them plug-and-play compatible on most platforms, including Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Whether remote-streaming a QC line or partcicpating in an online class, the MD series digital eyepiece can connect you to the world.

The MD300 is an ultra-compact 3MP USB digital microscope camera, ideally suited for use as an eyepiece camera. By itself, it will fit 23mm ocular or photo ports, but it can be adapted to fit 30mm or 30.5mm ports using the included sleeves. Using the USB interface for both connectivity and power, only a single cable is needed.

With software available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, this camera package is a multi-platform imaging solution. The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features such as image-stitching and extended-depth-of-focus. With the ability to calibrate scales at multiple magnifications, the software can be used for multi-level inspection. Independent preview and capture resolutions allow you to view high-speed video while simultaneously capturing high-definition images. For Mac and Linux, there is a lite version of the software which can capture video and still images, and includes limited processing features.

    Nicely convenient

The USB camera acts just like a normal eye piece, an attachment that can be quickly set up with a free downloadable software to let you view the specimen on the PC.
The resolution is enough to see small details, the image can be adjusted through saturation and brightness (along with much more) to improve the image. However it will have a noticeable delay when you move your specimen which causes a blur. The camera can typically handle the lower objective lens, higher objectives would not work but perhaps due to a weak focus.
The digital camera is a rather convenient attachment when buying along with your microscope. Swiftly take photos of the magnification immediately at your PC.
