The M500-LED is a fully-functional entry-level rechargeable microscope for classrooms and clinics. This model includes a mechanical caliper which provides precise positioning when viewing specimen slides. Unlike many microscopes in its class, it uses DIN industry-standard optics, making it compatible with a large selection of objective lenses and eyepieces. Another feature that sets it apart is its 100X oil-immersion objective lens which provides ultra-high magnification. All of the necessary functionality is present in an intuitive form factor which is ideally suited for classroom use. The microscope uses a traditional layout which is beneficial for students and other first-time users.
The monocular head keeps things simple. The use of a single eyepiece means that no adjustments are necessary for eye alignment or symmetrical focus. The head can rotate 360° for viewing from different positions. Interchangeable eyepieces allow you to change the overall magnification with optional lenses, or use a camera in place of the eyepiece to view microscopic images on a computer monitor or other display.
The objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels to easily focus in on minute details from 40X to 1000X. An additional 25X eyepiece expands the maximum magnification to 2500X with 6 unique levels. This covers magnifications needed for studying hair follicles, cells, and bacteria. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected to improve resolution and color accuracy.
The stage is equipped with two clips for holding slides and other specimens in place. A mechanical caliper is included, which can be attached to the stage to precisely position specimen slides. The microscope uses independent focus knobs to control coarse and fine adjustments. An adjustable limit-stop mechanism can be used to prevent the lenses from making contact with specimens, preventing damage to the lenses and glass slides.
The LED sub-stage lighting provides cool, energy-efficient illumination. Better yet, the microscope has rechargeable batteries installed, allowing it to operate without being plugged in after a complete charge. The light-source is daylight balanced to produce natural colors for imaging. The height-adjustable light-condenser precisely focuses light onto the specimen, with an iris-diaphragm to control contrast and focus depth.
