OMAX M83E Series LED Digital Trinocular Lab Compound Microscope 40X-2500X Magnification with USB Camera and Mechanical Stage
Key Features
- 640x480 pixel USB digital camera compatible with Windows
- Trinocular viewing head with sliding adjustable interpupillary distance
- Double layer mechanical stage and coaxial coarse and fine focus knobs on both sides
- NA1.25 Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm and filters
- Variable intensity LED transmitted illumination
The M83E series lab microscope is one of OMAX's best-selling model's thanks to its enduring quality and usability. Features include an adjustable trinocular viewing head with a dedicated photo port, precision mechanical stage controls and focusing, and energy-efficient LED illumination. It provides fundamental features in a compact form making it ideal for use in veterinary offices, clinics, schools, and homes.
Viewing Head
The trinocular viewing head has a comfortable 45° incline for viewing while seated or standing and can be swiveled 360°. Ocular spacing can be easily customized using sliding interpupillary adjustment. Dual diopters allow both eyepieces to be focused independently. The trinocular photo port adds a dedicated mounting tube for cameras. The 23mm tube is height-adjustable to fine-tune the focus to match the eyepieces. Its simul-focal design allows simultaneous use with both eyepieces so no switching is necessary.
Optics
The microscope is equipped with four objective lenses mounted on a rotating turret to quickly move through the various magnifications. The lenses use DIN international standards and are achromatically corrected to improve clarity and color accuracy. They provide a magnification range from 10X to 1000X when used with the standard 10X eyepieces, ideal for viewing a wide range of specimens including cellular structures and bacteria. Additional 25X eyepieces are included to expand the maximum magnification to 2500X with 6 unique levels.
Objective Lenses
Magnification | Corrections | NA | Immersion Medium | Cover-glass Thickness |
---|---|---|---|---|
4X | achromatic | 0.10 | — | 0.17mm |
10X | achromatic | 0.25 | — | 0.17mm |
40X | achromatic | 0.65 | — | 0.17mm |
100X | achromatic | 1.25 | oil | 0.17mm |
Specimen Stage
The 2-layer mechanical stage provides smooth and precise movement for the examination of specimen slides. The stage's low-position controls are conveniently placed near the coaxial focus knobs for a streamlined workflow. Examining specimen slides is intuitive and precise for users at any skill level.
LED Illumination
The LED sub-stage lighting provides cool, energy-efficient illumination. The light source is daylight balanced to produce natural colors. The Abbe light condenser has a high 1.25 numerical aperture for oil immersion, and an iris diaphragm to optimize contrast and depth-of-field. The condenser holder uses rack-and-pinion height adjustment for precision control.
Digital Imaging
The included 0.3MP digital-eyepiece camera is designed to be used in place of an eyepiece to watch live video from the microscope. The specialized microscopy software allows you to preview and record photos and videos on your computer. This ability to view microscopic images on your computer reduces eye strain and allows groups of people to view images at the same time. Our professional software for Windows provides a wide assortment of capture and photo-editing functions including color correction, time-lapse capture, and image stitching. A lite version of our software is available for Mac and Linux with essential functionality for capturing photos and videos.
